We as the human race have concerns of running out of oil. Some believe biodiesel is the answer, but I think it is not. According to Bateni & Karimi (2016, para 1), “Biodiesel is a promising alternative. It currently uses oil-based methanol for its industrial production. The most common process for biodiesel production is through the process of transesterification of triglycerides using methanol in the presence of an alkaline catalyst. Although biodiesel has caught the attention of many people due to its compliance with the environment and its biodegradability; it is not the solution because we may run out of those resources. Two renewable alternatives to oil that are currently available that may be of benefit to the planet are tidal power and wind power. Turk & Bensel (2014, Section 8.1, para 3) writes “Wind power development has been accelerating in recent years.” Tidal power is generated by tidal stream generators (machine receiving energy from masses of water) or barrage generation ( a dam-like structure that capture and release masses of water).

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
