Garcia 1 Christian Garcia English 71 Professor Walsh 03 May 2017 The Faith Among the Fire Imagine one day your freedom, beliefs, and family are taken away from you and there’s nothing you can do about it. Elie Wiesel is living through hell that Hitler had created. Arriving at the concentration camp Elie was separated from his family except from his father. Through-out the days in the camp Wiesel experiences mental and spiritual meltdowns because of all the evil that he witnesses. The theme of Night by Elie Wiesel is questioning faith for example, Elie saw kids being thrown to the crematory, he also rebelled against God by not fasting, and questioning what God had done in the past and not in the present. Elie Wiesel along with his father stood in line destined to the crematory. To be consumed by flames. At that moment he saw such cruelty, soldiers would take innocent kids from the mother and were thrown to the infernal flames. The screams of horror from the Jews would not make the SSR soldiers feel remorse. Wiesel couldn’t believe it. In the memoir Night, Wiesel
