Films are therapeutic, and it allows us to escape from the real world to relax. Many films engage social concerns and have lasting effects on society. One film, in particular, is titled Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013). This movie gained the attention of many cultures worldwide. Thanks to this film people can see first-hand how cultures live and survive. Specifically, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom is about how the black South African community is abused through corruption until a man (Nelson Mandela) steps up and fights for his country. The corrupted government imprisoned Mandela over decades, but his actions inspired and reached the hearts and minds of many worldwide. After many years in jail, he was released and then rose to be the leader of his country. In fact, Mandela was elected president of South Africa. The social and cultural resonance I see in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom deals with freedom and how people fight for what they believe. This film has opened a lot of eyes and has had a significant impact on the way we live.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
