2 STAFFING YOUR INTRAPRENEURSHIP PLAN Staffing Your Intrapreneurship Plan “As the world grows ever more eco-conscious, and technological innovations provide us with new and exciting ways to reduce our carbon footprint, businesses are caught between providing the latest and greatest in the ‘green’ economy and furnishing products consumers will actually use. Electric cars have been heralded as the next big thing in the push for more environmentally-friendly consumer vehicles for several years now, so why aren’t more drivers switching over from their gas-guzzling counterparts?” Knoll (2015) (para 1). Hydrogen Fuel Cells and creating vehicles that at are powered by Hydrogen will create a hunger for consistent torque. As previously identified by Young (2016) “It will take $400,000.00 to accomplish this from research, design and build a final production vehicle properly tested and proven without a doubt that this vehicle will tow a 13000 pound trailer up a hill while maintaining the minimum highway speed of 55 all while using no fossil fuels and with zero-emissions” (para 10). So, how is this accomplished? Let’s first assess the different types of teams that will be applied when identifying the new proposed department created at Tesla. There are 5 basic team types, “work teams, problem-solving teams, self-managed teams, cross-functional teams, and virtual teams” as identified by Kurtz (nd). As described by Kurtz (nd), Work Teams are not an ideal team type for our proposed department as this new department will be created by existing staff with the objective to create new and innovated product and is not part of day to day operation and rather creating a new idea. Problem-solving teams are again not ideal as yes, there is a problem to be completed, but the team will not be dis-banded and is not temporary. Granted the ability to have to make decisions about a problem will need to be

However, this team will be new and created from different staff members within Tesla and is not part of their daily tasks which will require new tasks to be created. Cross- functional teams however, are ideal as the new department will be created from different staff within Tesla such as the existing Research and Development, Production and Control, Commercial Advertising and Design and Build divisions again within Tesla. When it comes to virtual teams, we will not require groups whom are dispersed geographically around the world that would use communication technologies to accomplish the objective. The use of different recruiting tools will need to be accomplished. The majority of our requiting will be recruited within Tesla. We will use the following model of how we will advertise within our recruiting needs derived from Kurtz (nd).

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
