It allows the user to input commands that the computer can then execute. 3. Give names of three Linux shells. Which are the most popular? What is a login shell? - Three of the most common Linux shells are Bash, TC and Z. A login shell is the shell that logs you into the shell interface. 4. What do you type in to terminate the execution of a shell? How do you terminate the execution of your login shell? - Type either a ‘q’ for ctrl+D to terminate the execution of a shell. To terminate the login shell hit ‘esc’. 8. What are hidden files? What are the names of the hidden files that are executed when you log on to a Linux system? - Hidden files are not shown as part of the ls command unless accompanied by the a option. The hidden files that execute when a Linux system is logged onto are .bash_profile/.bash_login/.profile, .bashrc, .bash_logout, .bash_history, .cshrc or
