Intro into computing and technology definitions 1. Chipset: a collection of integrated circuits that form the set needed to make an electronic device such as a computer motherboard or portable telephone. 2. CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor): a technology for making low power integrated circuits. 3. Data bus: system within a computer or device, consisting of a connector or set of wires, which provides transportation for data. 4. Data path size: a collection of functional units, such as arithmetic logic units or multipliers, which perform data processing operations, registers, and buses. 5. Device driver: is a program that controls a particular type of device that is attached to your computer. 6. Flashing bios: you can boot with a special disk or execute a set of instructions and update the BIOS without having to open the case. 7. Front side bus: a computer communication interface (bus) often used in Intel-chip-based computers during the 1990s and 2000s. 8. Hertz: the SI unit of frequency, equal to one cycle per second.
