EH 101July 10, 2017The textual and visual elements combine as a cohesive whole to evoke pathos and a sense of urgency to act in the viewer of the website. Pathos is the major rhetorical appeal on this website. A lot of victims’ pictures, their situations, and history of MADD can lead feelingof pathos from readers. Although someone might not have experienced of loss of a loved one,any individual might feel sorrow for certain individuals. Some stories include children whose lives have been cut short due to the carelessness of strangers, thus tugging at the heartstrings of the viewer. The black and white photographs (signaling an individual who is dead) reinforce the audience's sense of pity.
