Journal: Health Promotion After doing a respiratory assessment on our patient Ms. Tina Jones, we found that our patient has an abnormal breath sound which is wheezing. Wheezing is a high-pitched musical sound that is heard primarily during inspiration, but could also be heard in expiration. When air passes through a narrowed airway, it creates a sound similar to that of a vibrating reed. Wheezing is associated with asthma, bronchitis and emphysema (Jensen & Sabin, 2015) . If left untreated, asthma can cause difficulty in breathing that may lead to death. On the case of our patient, Ms. Tina Jones has a history of asthma that started when she was still 2 ½ years old. A health promotion teaching tool that our patient can benefit from could be a brochure or printouts that we can give to her, focusing on the management and control of asthma. Tina Jones, doesn t seem to know to always carry with her an emergency medication such as the inhaler and
