Ethical Issues in Employment Law2Ethical Issues in Employment LawThere are many ethical issues that could arise within Employment Law. After reviewing the module I learned that Employment Law is a broad area surrounding all areas of the employee/employer relationship. At one point in our lives we all experience some sort of discrimination or at least witness it. I have always had a strong work ethic and sometimes I find myself being taken advantage of because I genuinely enjoyed working. The only ethical issue that I ever encountered was under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and The U.S. Department of Labor (2009) states that it establishes minimum wage, overtime pay, record keeping, and youth employment standards affecting employees in the private sector and in Federal, State and local governments.Working Under 18I started working at the age of 16 at a widely known chain restaurant, Friendlys, as a hostess. For the first few months I worked there, it was normal, I would work two days during the week and then the weekends. When I hit month 9 I switched positions and I started working
