2What is Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)?Congestive Heart Failure means that the heart is no long working at full capacity, this doesn’t mean that the heart stops beating. According to Nutricell (2012), when the condition progresses, other health conditions such as narrowed arteries inyour heart (coronary artery disease) or high blood pressure gradually leave your heart too weak or stiff to fill and pump efficiently. CHF can strike at any age but it is more apparent in individuals over the age of 65, that why it’s important to know what the risk factors are and how to avoid this condition. What Population is at highest risk?CHF can happen to anyone at any age but the population that is at the greatest risk is individuals over the age of 65. CHFis the number one reason people over 65 are admitted into hospitals (CDC).
