Unformatted text preview: Jacqueline VanSant MUS 101- Section 4 Concert Review I attended a concert on Saturday, October 25 at the Fine Arts Center Concert Hall. The concert was composed of the URI Symphony Orchestra, the URI Concert Choir, and the URI Big Band, with their respective conductors. The concert hall was of moderate size, all one floor of slightly inclined rows of cushy seats facing a large stage. The Symphony Orchestra which was composed of 54 personnel was seated on the stage. Their instruments included flutes, oboes, clarinets, French horns, trumpets, trombones, one tuba, many violins, violas, cellos, a stand up bass, and percussion instruments including timpani and cymbals to name a few. There were two conductors for this group: Ann Danis, and an associate conductor Brian Cardany. In front of the Orchestra seated on the ground level was the Big Band, composed of 16 personnel with instruments including saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and a rhythm section. The conductor for this smaller group was Joe Parillo. The URI Concert Choir was not yet in section....
