Surname 1 \Author’s Name Professor’s Name Course Number Date of Submission Hungarian Immigration in the Century of Immigration During the Century of Immigration, which took place from 1815 to 1924, a large number of immigrants from different parts of the world entered the United States. One of the Immigration group was the Hungarians. The first Hungarians to enter the United States did so in 1890 (Encyclopedia of Chicago 1). Other came to America at the beginning of the First World War in 1914. So, the first political immigration took place in early 1850’s (Encyclopedia of Chicago 1). However, the presence of Hungarians dates way back before the Century of Immigration. Because of the defeat of Hungarian Revolution in 1848-1849, a large number of Hungarians moved to the United States in search of a safe place to stay (Discrimination 1-5). Nearly all of them came with the intention of returning to Europe to fight for their rights and freedom from the Austrian Empire (Century of Immigration 2-25). The following study provides an overview of Hungarian immigration from 1815 to 1924. The overview entails a description of the group, reasons why they migrated, the time frame the moved from their countries to the United States, where they stayed when they entered America, and what was the significance. Hungarians are immigrants who came from Hungary. Their main language is Hungarian, and primary are of settlement is the East Coast. They are Jewish. As Christians, they were part of different denominations that later split. These denominations were Roman Catholics, Calvinists, and Lutherans (Century of Immigration 25-32).
