Today : Perform Lab #1 and give in- class presentations for homework #1 as well. Next Week : Quiz #1 over todays lab only. Read over your lab manual for Ch. 2 and 6 Send me an e-mail if you would like a copy of this Powerpoint introduction. Lab Safety Appropriate clothing long pants preferred and close-toed shoes are MANDATORY Goggles are MANDATORY for all labs!! Turn off hot plates / gas lines when not in use Clean materials and surfaces Dont sniff or drink chemicals No eating, drinking or tobacco use in labs No mouth pipetting Dispose of waste in proper receptacles Objectives Discuss the four unifying theories in biology. Demonstrate proper use of the compound and dissecting microscope. Describe the steps of the scientific method. Design and conduct an experiment using the scientific method.
