Derive the transformer equivalent-T model by following steps 1a. through 1c on Slide 13 and steps 2a. through 2d. on Slides 15 and 16. 2. A 100-kVA, 2400:240-V, single-phase transformer has the following parameter values: 1 0.30 r 4.5 k c R = Ω 1 3m r = Ω 1 0.65 X 1 1.0 k m X = Ω 2 6.5 m X = Ω The transformer delivers 75 kW at 230 V and 0.85 power factor lagging. a. Draw the equivalent T-model of the transformer using the specified parameters and an ideal transformer (see Slide 19 of the “transformers” lecture notes). b. Redraw the equivalent T-model of the transformer with the 2-winding variables and parameters referred to the 1-winding so that the ideal transformer is not necessary (see Slide 18 of the “transformers” lecture notes). c. Determine the 1-winding current. d. Determine the 1-winding voltage. e. Determine the 1-winding real and reactive power.
