Austin Johnson Extra Credit #5 Summary: This article from psychologytoday.com talks about how a collaborative study between researchers at the University of Bonn in Germany and The University of Jerusalem showed a reverse in the aging of the brain in mice after given a dose of THC the ingredient found in cannabis. Other mice were given a placebo and they developed as normal. With this recent discovery, the next test is to take a low dose of THC into the human brain and test this theory over the same amount of time as the mice. The dose given to the mice was not large enough to give off a high but is proven to “reduce inflammation in the brain, improves cognition, and helps manage chronic pain”.
