Interpolation c “Interpolation is a procedure for determining a value of y corresponding to some specified value of x, when x falls between 2 known values. The known values will be members of a set of x-y data, for example P1=(x1,y1), P2=(x2,y2),…”, Gottfried c If the known y values are measured with uncertainty, regression may be a better approach. c If the known y values are precise data points, interpolation may be preferred.
