DIGITAL DESIGN I: EXPERIMENT #8 STOPWATCH DESIGN Purpose The purpose of this experiment is to combine many of the concepts used in previous labs to design a stopwatch that has the following features: - it will have a Start/Stop button that switches the watch on/off when depressed - it will have a Reset switch that resets the watch to “0000” References 1) Digital Systems: Principles and Applications, Chapter 5 and 7 2) Altera Quartus II Tutorial 3) DE2 Pin Assignments Materials Required Altera DE2 board, AC adapter, and USB interface cable Prelab (to be checked by the TA at the BEGINNING of your lab class) [5 points] 1) Using either the internal 27MHz or 50MHz clock, build a frequency divider using TFFs, as discussed in class, that will give you a period of approximately 1/100s. Name this component CLK_gen , with output clk1 , and input clk . Provide the number of TFFs required in your prelab report. No vector waveform needed for this section. [5 points]
