COURSE PREREQUISITESPrereq: BIO 1510 with grade of C-minus or above. OFFICE HOURS Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:00-1:45 pm, or by appointment* EXAMS There will be 4 exams (three in-class midterm examinations and one final exam). ICLICKER/REEF/LEARNING CATALYTICS** QUESTIONS Throughout the semester and during every lecture I will present questions that students will answer using their iClickers or REEF accounts. 0.5 pts will be given for every answer submitted and an additional 0.5pts for correct answers. 2 EXAM DATES There will be 3 closed-book midterm examinations, given in class (see below). The final exam (Exam IV) is a cumulative exam held at 8:00-10:00 AM Tuesday December 19th, 2017. EXAM CONFLICTS The final exam is scheduled as designated in the Schedule of Classes for this term. No other time for the final exam will be available, and no exceptionswill be made for conflicts such as student travel plans.Students are not required to take more than two final exams in one day. A student with more than two scheduled final exams on one day may (not must) petition to the instructor of the course with the lowest number students enrolled (this course has >330 enrolled students), to arrange an alternate time for the final exam. Such petitions must be presented to the instructor as early as possible and made at least one week prior to the scheduled date of the final exam. EXAM FORMATS The exams will include multiple-choicequestions, and willinclude images. All exams will be closed book and held in class. All you will need is a few sharp pencils, a good eraser, your One Card, and Scantrons (I will provide Scantrons for all Exams). No electronic devices of any kind will be allowed unless indicated otherwise in advance, and cell phones must be turned off. Anyone who leaves the exam room will not be allowed back in. Late-arriving students should know that admittance into the exam room will not be allowed after 20 minutes and/or the first student has left the room. The instructor will arrange a structured seating plan for the exam.
