Continuation of Discussion on Final Solution Quantitative approach/precision to eliminating the Jews o Handout Determined to kill every single Jew Concentration Camps o Predated the Jews o 3 Phases of the System 1933-1936 1 st Phase Used as a tool of political persecution Aimed at stamping out resistance to the Regime Intended for Nazi opponents Security Police Heinrich Himmler o Head of the entire police apparatus o Turned out to be the head of the entire concentration camp system Aim of these camps was not extermination Also designed as an economic base o Increased economic production o People who worked in camps were not very productive because they weren’t taken care of 1937-1944 Expansion of the people in these camps o Not just political opponents People who were asocial (Gypsys) , lesbians, work- shy Led to massive overcrowding of the camps 1942-1945 Extermination Camps
