2 SECURITY EDUCATION IN ORGANIZATIONS Abstract Establishing and maintaining a security program is vital to an organizations progress and success. Information security and risk management programs should be established and understood by the employees of a given organization. Discussed are the components of best security training and awareness programs, importance of awareness programs and the recommendations for organizations on those security programs. Introduction The security education programs are designed to reduce the number of security related issues that occur as a result of employees’ lack of awareness. This risk might include loss of data or interruption of company’s privacy and data safety. This has therefore created the urge and need to effectively offer training and awareness to workers by their organizations. Businesses have been encouraged to accelerate their education efforts and prioritize the major and right topics that relate to their day to day activities.
