TylerTHET 20010/15/16“Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” ReviewFlorida Agricultural & Mechanical University’s performance of Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize winning play “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” was a grand slam. Director Chris Berry’s ability to bring the play to life and elevate it such a level that I was so impressed that I saw the show not once but twice and the second time I brought four other friends that thoroughly enjoyedthe play. The story is about a wealthy cotton plantation owner in Mississippi who is celebrating his release from the hospital with what he thinks to be a clean bill of health. His family is withholding the truth that he is dying of cancer, and in efforts to keep him in his good graces on his birthday. The main and one of the most dynamic characters in the story is Brick also known as Chris Beckford Jr. Brick is a son of the plantation owner who is a former National Football league player that is dealing with mourning the loss of his best friends Skipper.
