TO: Ms. Galbo FROM: Mr. Ehrentraut DATE: February, 192006 SUBJECT: Job Applications The three positions I would consider applying for are a part-time reference librarian, a full time librarian, and a full time research librarian. The first position I would consider is a part-time reference librarian at Franklin University. 1) “Franklin is recognized for excellence and innovation. The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools accredit it. Its MBA program is one of the largest and most respected in central Ohio. More than 230 community colleges across the U.S. have partnered with Franklin University to offer their graduates the last two years of their bachelor’s degrees online. Franklin was chosen by the U.S. Department of Education as one of the first 15 colleges, college systems, or college consortia to participate in a pilot program allowing unlimited distance education students to be eligible for financial aid.” The part-time reference librarian position will require working with faculty to design and implement information literacy programs and initiatives. In addition, this position will assume reference service, collection development and course development responsibilities. In applying for this position I would stress that I am working on my Bachelor’s in Social Sciences, ultimately working towards obtaining my Masters in Library Science.
