Text: Organic Chemistry, 4th ed. by G. M. Loudon, Oxford University Press, 2002.
Lectures: Sun, Tues & Thurs, 8:00 - 8:50 AM in Lecture Hall 3.
Recitations: Sundays at 1:25 ~ 2:15 PM in Labs 067 / 068. Reviews: Thursday, Oct. 7'h and Thursday, Nov. 4th (2:30 — 3:30 PM in Labs 067 / 068). Homework: Solving problems is the onlyproven way to learn organic chemistry!!
Weekly problem sets (ungraded) will be distributed. You are expected to work
through these problem sets on your own time. Be prepared to discuss solutions to
the problem sets during weekly recitation sessions. Exams: Quizzes: Quizzes will be held in—class (first 5—10 minutes of class) on Tuesdays,

5 quizzes x 4% each = 20% total). Note 2: There are no make-ups for missed quizzes or exams. An unexcused
absence 'will result in a grade of zero for that exam. Any excused absence or absence due to illness must be cleared in advance with
.Drs. Smith or Pungente. in such a case, the grade for the missed prelim is
transferred directly to the value of the final exam. That is: If one prelim is missed, the final is worth 60%; If two prelims are missed, the final is worth 80%; Organic Chemistry — 4th Edition G.
