Amelia Murphy WTE Laura Wienert Assignment #3 – scene 2/2/08 Quotes; -“Better to die standing than to live life on your knees” Che Guevara Cuban revolutionary NYT article -“I’ve always known I’d be a bank robber. So judge me all you want, ladies and gentlemen. Because you never did become an astronaut.”- www.asofterworld.com -“ There is nothing patriotic about hating your country, or pretending that you can love your country but despise your government”- Bill Clinton in The Natural In Class Monday; This weekend I had ultimate Frisbee practice in Red Hook Brooklyn. As I approached the expression changed from strength to confusion, bravery to fear. What looked at first glance an homage was in reality a sarcastic depiction of what the people in Red Hook thought the war had become. The gun was tattered and some cork was blocking the machine guns barrel. It may be the thoughts of many, or the thoughts of you, but this 4 by 2 foot image was a pathway into the ideals of this neighborhood. Questions
