Mountain2 Outline I. Intro/ Thesis: As the United state we uphold morals that mass atrocities as genocide should be stopped, however alternative influences hinder actions therefore the fight is taken to the people. It is Crises like these that need immediate attention and force the individuals, the corporations investing in Sudan, and the Government’s to intervene and take responsibility for what is happening around the world. II. Body A. It is the people who need to make a difference by using effective strategies B. It is oil and energy companies that are providing for this war, so people and corporations need to stop funding the Genocide and call for a Divestment C. The Government needs to stop making excuse and make a effort to help stop the genocide III. Conclusions

Mountain3 I believe that if nothing is to be done then, the Sudanese government’s killing will not end and the African Union troops that might remain there will continue to have front row seat for the slaughter. Throughout our history genocides have occurred all over the world right beneath our noses; and yet nothing dramatic has been done to stop the mass murders and the attempts to wipe out an entire social group. Over the past years between 180,000 and 400, 000 civilians have been killed in the Darfur region of Sudan, 2,000,000 people have been displaced, 2,000 villages have been burned and their wells poisoned, and women of all ages have been raped by government- supported Janjaweed militias. i After the aftermath of the Holocaust everyone around that world was devastated by the situation and couldn’t believe that something so horrible could happen under our watch. The world pledged to them selves that a mass genocide will “Never Again” happen and allow a targeted destruction of a particular group, but unwillingly we still faced these problems in Rwanda, Cambodia, and Bosnia. ii So it is time to step up, when will the people of the world finally see that it is the United Nations responsibility to interfere when a countries government is no longer caring or protecting its citizens from the horrible situation that are occurring? When these situations that we expect to be taken cared don’t, we must take a stand and help to make that change.
