Social Beliefs and Judgments Attribution theory: the theory of how people explain others’ behaviour-for example, by attributing it either to internal dispositions (enduring traits, motives, and attitudes) or to external situations To what do we attribute others’ behaviour? How do we perceive and recall our social worlds? What are the ways we judge each other? When do we tend to fulfill someone’s expectations of us? Explaining others Dispositional attribution: attributing behaviour to person’s disposition and traits Situational attribution: attributing behaviour to the environment Fundamental attribution error: the tendency for observers to underestimate situational influences and overestimate dispositional influences on others’ behaviour. (Also called correspondence bias because we so often see behaviour as corresponding to a disposition.) An actor-observer difference Self-awareness: a self-conscious state in which attention focuses on oneself. It makes people more sensitive to their own attitudes and dispositions.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
