ITEC3300 Information Security Chapter 2 Activity 1 1. Using Notepad to create a text file named file1.txt. Write a random sentence in the file and save it. Try the following DOS commands and explain the function of each of them: mkdir folder1 – makes a folder named folder1 copy file1.txt .\folder1\file2.txt – makes a copy of file1 named file2 cd folder1 – goes to the folder you created dir – expands what’s in the folder copy file2.txt file3.txt – makes a copy of file2 named file3 dir – shows the directory of the folder del file3.txt – deletes the copied file dir – expands what’s currently in the folder del *.txt – deletes all the .txt files dir – expands the current folder once again cd .. – goes back to the current directory you were in
