Shabbir Dossajee Abigael Flansmann English 3109 03/22/2017 Steve Job’s Speech Steve Jobs is one of the most celebrated CEO’s in the world at the moment. Though he passed away, he is still remembered for the things he has done and the major role he played in the technology and communication sector. He promoted and developed the technology part just like the famous owner of Microsoft Cooperation, Bill Gates. Jobs has been able to deliver talks in a different institution, sharing his experiences in life and the struggle he has undergone to be able to reach where he was. Among this institutions is Stanford University where in 2005, he was able to deliver a commencement speech that was very inspiring and educative. Before the speech, Steve Jobs is introduced to present the speech to the graduating students. Rhetorically, he delivers his information. He gives this through saying the truth about him not finishing the university and graduating, (Stanford University News, 2005, paragraph 1). From his three stories he passes to his audience, he delivers a message and education. In the story, especially the last story, he educates the graduating students that though you are fired, you should never coil up and stop doing what you are good at. This is evident from the story where he was thrown out of Apple Company, a company he had created from scratch to a multi-billion dollar company. He not only entertains, he presents ideas for solving problems and he also attempts to change his audience perspectives on how to view those who had not graduated from any college or university. Through the ethos, he is able to be known by the audience from the introduction which had been made by the previous speaker. He was competent to speak on
