Workplace Diversity Introduction Diversity is the state or quality where different people who have different races, religion groups, culture, appearance, etc. All are under one organization or company. In an organization or especially a company having a different caliber of people, there exists workplace diversity. Specifically, workplace diversity refers to the different varieties of things in people that are in a particular organization or company. Diversity is made up of ethnic groups, age, cognitive style, tenure, organizational functions, education, background gender and also race. Under human resource management, diversity of workplace means focusing on people issues, their differences and the similarities in a specific organization or workplace environment. These issues include equal opportunities and affirmative actions that are non- discriminating. A study on Inclusive and Harmonious Workplace by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) in 2010 show diverse teams are likely to perform better than homogeneous teams for the diverse groups are creative and effective at solving problems. Workplace diversity demonstrates how people interact with each other on a daily basis in the working environment. The research paper is about three companies’ in Diversity Inc.
