Parents who have children with epilepsy or other conditions are advocating for marijuana in home states. Julie Michaels, the mother of Sydney Michaels resides in Pittsburgh, PA, and is a firm supporter of medical marijuana. Her daughter Sydney spends most of her time in the hospital where she has up to 15 seizures or more in 36 hours (Talamo). Michaels states,” This is something that needs to happen across the country so that every child who might need this would have access, why should the state lines be the factor as to whether my child can get help or not?"(Talamo).
