Workplace Violence Protection Plan Outline 2 According to OSHA “Workplace violence is violence or the threat of violence against workers. It can occur at or outside the workplace and can range from threats and verbal abuse to physical assaults and homicide, one of the leading causes of job-related deaths. However, it manifests itself, workplace violence is a growing concern for employers and employees nationwide” (OSHA,2017), I. Violence by Outside Persons (describe): Violence by an outside person can happen due to many reasons. Perpetrators have a legitimate reason to be in the work, also they have no relationship to the owners or the employees. Their mission is gain access to the property to commit crime such as robbery and trespassing, these perpetrators can commit violent acts as well. A. Policy Statement : The organization will not tolerate any type of violence from any outside person within the organization. The organization is committed to providing a safe environment for its workers and will ensure that whoever is responsible for any workplace violence will face full B. Summary of Training (describe): Employees will be trained on how to detect suspicious behavior from an outsider. They will be trained on how to handle situations in a calm manner without panicking. Employees will be trained on how to defuse the situation
