2 What’s this course? MACT 1121 is the first semester in the mainstream calculus sequence at the AUC. It is essentially a course about differentiation. (Roughly speaking, differentiation measures the rate at which some quantity changes with respect to another.) The course covers the following topics: 1. Pre-calculus Revision: Algebra and Trigonometry 2. Limits of one-variable functions, Continuity and Differentiability.
