INTRODUCTION The case Artic Mining Consultants shows how a bad managerial and coordination can drive a team to be unsuccessful in their tasks. It is about a short-lived team which had a host of job to do in a short time. Knowing about the hard tasks, instead of motivate the team the leader harmed the process and performance the group did not perform effectively. I. SYMPTOMS AND EVALUATION OF KEY FACTORS: Day 1: They decided the plan. Parker made clear expectations for each one, even knowing it was a lot of job. Parker offered 300$ as bonus to motivat3e the team. Day 2: Millar and Boise did not complete their quota, and Parker, as a leader, did not say anything. Day 3: Parker was angry because of the worst achievement of the team worker. Parker got mad only to Millar. Parker checked everyone’s work, but did not give feedback. Talbot offered to help other workers, but Parker did not accept his idea. Day 4: Workers performed better in the 4 th day. Parker did not show any reaction about their better performance. Day 5: Millar did less than the day before, and Parker got mad again. Millar tried to explain he was doing his best. Millar showed dissatisfaction about the job, and questioned why Parker did not asked about the Boyce’s results. Day 6: All team did better. Especially Millar, who put his best efforts that day, but Parker did not show any reaction about their better results, or encourage the team. Day 7: Millar continues his best efforts to the point of collapsing, but Parker was still very unhappy with the results. He complained only to Millar again. Day 8: During the 8 th day, Millar gave up of keep working hard when he realized the team would not complete the goals. He realized that he would not have the bonus, but would

have one more pay day working. Even though Parker knew that Millar maybe cannot finish his work, Parker did not help him.
