Abnormal Psychology Name: Dana Chavez #890458649 Chapter 1 Worksheet Week 2 1. What is demonology? How does demonology stand in the way of a more complete understudying of the causes and treatment of psychological abnormality? Demonology is the study of demons, specifically for psychology; it is believing that there are demons within an individual which are the main cause of their deviant, distressing, or dangerous behavior. This stands in the way of proper treatment because the abnormal behavior is being attributed to being possessed by a demon. The patient’s treatment becomes an exorcism to release the demon from their body. Instead, the patient needs to be properly evaluated to find the root cause whether that be a chemical imbalance or past trauma.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
