Bio 1: Lab Report # 1 Shruti Reddy I. Introduction: What is a buffer? A complex mixture or substance that tends to maintain a solution at a constant pH What is the purpose of both experiments? The purpose of each experiment was to see which substance would make the best buffer II. Procedures: Briefly explain the procedure of each experiment. We added 10 drops of phosphate buffer to see which solution has the least difference and to determine which was the best buffer. Then we added 10 drops of acid and 4 drops of Brom Cresol. This was to see which antacid neutralizes the most acid and whether it is least or most effective. Maalox
