Without God, human beings would have no purpose of value to our life, no one to provide examples, lessons are guide us into our destiny or correct path. McCloskey deduces the arguments can’t be the proof of the existence of God. This means that he is making false attributions or attributions that he finds to be real to these arguments. However, when referring to Science he believes he is correct. A proof is known as a statement that is unquestionable that has a product. Many believe that teleological and cosmological proves the existence of God, however these alone will not prove God’s existence. According to Foreman’s presentation, “Approaching the Question of God’s Existence ”, it’s obvious that McCloskey is using the teleological and cosmological. He uses them as a way that their name suggests them to be used. However, some may argue that they are being used in a way that they were never supposed to be used as. The teleological and cosmological does offer great points on proving that the existence of God is true, but it still doesn’t provide enough support that it alone could prove the existence of God. McCloskey however doesn’t agree with the existence of God as he follows the theists argument and assume that they are proofs and believable. McCloskey has many different arguments however his first argument he attempted to disqualify the cosmological argument. This argument argues that the God existence that there is a creator of the entire universe. From McCloskey stand point the universe alone is not enough to prove that the existence of God is true. According to Philosophy of Religion written by Evans and Manis (68), it states that “the contingency of the universe” is the correct answer and that there are necessary and contingent beings (69). Necessary beings are a need that exist without any type of validation. Contingent being is a being that is obvious from seeing in the universe knowing that it exists, however not be necessary (69). McCloskey believes that there had to be an original creator of the universe. Which according to the cosmological argument that original creator is God.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
