So Gregor's tragedy leads to improvement for each of his family members; what might that mean for the story? I don't think it's a moral condemnation/just punishment of Gregor, but I'd like to see you interpret his family's well-being. Essay Option #3: Gregor Samsa is a sympathetic character for many readers. Yet in some readings, he is guilty of complicity with a dehumanizing work environment, of participating in the survival of patriarchal control over families, and of exerting restrictive control over his father and his mother, and especially, his sister. Another accusation might be that he accepts the sacrifices he makes for his family as a way to avoid risk, to defer having his own life choices and his own personal agency. Write an essay that engages in some of these views of the character Gregor Samsa and make sure to establish a strong thesis/position of your own in the analysis of his behavior in the story. Is his transformation a kind of punishment that he deserved, an injustice, or simply a condition of modern life in Kafka’s time? https://brightkite.com/essay-on/the-unloving-society-in-the-metamorphosis-by-franz-kafka https://wenku.baidu.com/view/3e73e764f5335a8102d2205a.html guilty of complicity with a dehumanizing work environment His transformation leads to improvement for each of his family members An injustice and a condition of modern life Sacrificing himself for his family Feels pity for the son Son is their money machine Participate in the survival of patriarchal control over families: is a social system in which males hold primary power and predominate in roles of political leadership, moral authority, social privilege and control of property.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
