Les vers 4 Rappelle-toi, l’alexandrin est un vers de douze pieds. Compter les pieds (les syllabes), c’est scander un vers. Le vers de dix pieds est un décasyllabe, le vers de huit pieds est un octosyllabe, etc.

Les formes fixes 5 Le sonnet Deux quatrains suivis de deux tercets. Le rondeau Treize vers, deux rimes, le premier vers devient un refrain (1, 7, 13). La ballade Trois strophes de même longueur comportant les mêmes rimes et dont le dernier vers sert de refrain. Une quatrième strophe courte sert d’envoi.
