Module 1 Reply #1 Hi Kina, I agree with your thoughts on the floodwaters in Texas. I spent this weekend in Rockport, wading through flooded streets in attempt to help my family recover lost possessions and the water was absolutely filthy. I could only shudder at the thought of how many microorganisms were floating around in the water; water were adults were standing in shorts and children were playing. I too believe that a great many people are going to get sick due to being exposed to dirty standing water. I’m also going to have to disagree with your statement, “A medication may work for an ethnic group and not for another,” in reference to pharmacoepidemiology. I don’t believe there are medications targeted to solely one ethnic group. While every person may react differently towards a medication, medications in general tend to be universal. Pharmacoepidemiology is a fascinating field albeit fairly new, is contributing greatly to patient care, and is very involved in drug development and post approval process (Wise, 2011). Wise, L. (2011). Risks and benefits of (pharamaco)epidemiology.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
