Julio Carmona September 24, 2017 HSC 305 Today I want to discuss the negligence of the pediatrician and the hospital who oversaw in the treating of Kelly Niles. When Kelly came in he initially vomited several times and complained about his head. Any physician according to head injury protocol would realize these are symptoms of something bigger than just a regular headache. In comes the pediatrician to evaluate or should I say ask a few questions to Kelly, we can point out if the right questions would have been asked he would have never been sent home. Then the physician did not remember the instructions that were given to Kelly’s father this is important because any father that receives instructions for the care of their child would be vigilant in seeing what behaviors his child exhibits. Every emergency room you go to they give you a discharge form depending on what you were being treated for. “The pediatrician could not recall giving the father a copy of the emergency departments Head Injury Instructions”.
