BARRIE SUPER SUBS – CASE 3 Symptoms - Managers do not work with the staff. It discourages the frontline work. - Team leaders work close to staff, and the most of workers are students and work part-tie - Barrie Super Subs has experienced below average profitability over the past 18 months. - Managers get bonus based on the wastage, and the wastage has increased along with the low profitability - Company’s policies state that the mistakes come out of the paycheques, and not authorized eating and giving food way will get staff dismissed. Team leaders do not report any wastage - The team leader, who reported wastage incidents was snubbed by coworkers - Employees complain that allowance food is not enough. They take food and drinks even if they are not allowed, and also give food and drinks to their friends and family. - The disobedience of employees resulted in high level of food wastage, therefore managers stopped getting bonuses.
