Joseph Guaman Ms. Mimidas Ap Lang September 12, 2017 Valley Forge In the harsh winter when my country needs me the most I will be there to support my country and gain its independence. Starving, cold, furious, and confined in huts in December 1777 and the enemy just a couple miles away, I will do my best to outweigh all the negatives and think positive. Being a quitter would erk my soul and make me feel like I was the fault for losing the war. Winston Churchill stated “ We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.” I will not surrender until my country is liberated. I have chosen to stay at Valley Forge because there is a chance for me to not die of sickness because of the medical care provided, there is also patriotism, and there is a chance of us winning this war.
