Four things about cogsci that make it special- It crosses many disciplines EX: how we make decisions Uses science & psychology i. 1. It seeks detailed answers to how and why questions (often answers are computational) EX: patient H.M. Was epileptic and had surgery, took out both sides of hippocampus from the brain and then he couldn't remember things Learned that he could still learn how to do new things, even though he said he didn't remember what the activity was--we see that there are separate parts of the brain that help us remember separate memories Reinforcement learning i. 2. It seeks deep explanations EX: studying human language Cogsci asks what is a possible human language? Asks this because cogsci believes that language is a part of our body, it is a biologial study i. 3. It grapples with hard problems

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
