The quiz is meant to test how well you paid attention during the movie, but also to help you focus your thinking for this  class.  1. What information in this film were you already pretty familiar with? What in this film was new information to you?  What most surprised you?  What would you have liked to know more about?       2. Describe the effect that WWII had on the growth of gay & lesbian community in the United States, according to this  film.       3. Why were bars so crucial to early gay & lesbian community building?      4. Describe some of the words or phrases that were used in the film to describe  being  gay or lesbian or living as a gay or  lesbian. For example, one speaker called gays and lesbians members of the  demimonde —the twilight world.      5. Another social movement, Prohibition, created a relatively tolerant cultural space for gays and lesbians in the 1920s.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
