CS260P ASMT 01 Boyd Assignment One Description In this assignment, you will use the kickstart script you created in Exercises-Kickstart to install a new VM for this assignment corresponding to custom parameters. You will then add the configuration changes indicated in Tasks below to that VM, leave it running, and give it to me for checking. I will perform cursory checks on the resulting VM. To pass this assignment, which is required to pass the class, your VM must have been installed with your kickstart script - the anaconda-ks.cfg script will be examined to ensure this. The name of the installed system must be P-login-asmt1 , where login is your hills login, and its IP address must be set as below. your kickstart script must have done at least the four customizations specified in Exercises-Kickstart in the post-installation script, and must have reported their progress in a /ks.out status file. you must have made significant progress implementing the additional configurations below. All configurations must be persistent across reboots. Final customization of your kickstart script Before you run your kickstart script, make the following changes to the network command: Set the hostname to P-login-asmt1.acrc.ccsf.edu Set the IP address to host 241 on your cs260p subnet update the virt-install command accordingly when you install the system (so that the VM domain, image file and hostname match) after installation, set the memory requirement of your VM back to 1024MB Then kickstart your system, check the results (including the log in /ks.out ), and continue with the customizations below. Other Customizations Note: The customizations marked with * should be deferred until we cover them in this course in later weeks.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
