1. What are three things that all human cultures have in common?
All human cultures vary greatly, however there are certain things that are
found in every culture: communicating with language, marrying and raising
children, and creating art.

List examples of material culture that fulfill basic human needs.
Material culture is the good that people make and the technology used to
make the goods. The examples of this that fulfill human needs are food,
clothing, and shelter.
3.
What are values? Give an example of a value.
Values are things that
people think are important to them. Values may or may not be different from
one culture to another. An example of a value from the reading is that Native
Americans share a value that everyone should live in harmony with nature.
4.
State one way that people learn their own culture.
People usually
take in the beliefs of the culture they are growing up in, this is called
enculturation. One of the ways enculturation occurs is through direct
teaching.
