ACTION PLAN 2 To address the problem of prescription drug abuse among rural teens the overall goal of this action plan will be to educate our youth about the dangers of abusing prescription drugs. To get them to realize the reality of what will really happen if you go down that path. I would also hope that this action plan would be able to help anyone who had already started to abuse drugs so that they can live a drug free life. The first recommendation is to try to start educating our youth about the dangers of non-medical use of prescription drugs. With this type of prevention plan in place I believe that the teens that are temped or have already got a taste of prescription drugs that are popularly abused may see things in a different light. (Collins, Abadi, Johnson, Shambien, & Thompson, 2012) I would start by addressing the school board meetings or the PTA meetings. I would present them with my action plan and suggestions on how to approach the class to be successful. The classes would be provided with literature on the
