THE WORKPLACE 2 I. Introduction A. Thesis: In the United States most employees work without an employment agreement, and subsequently, can be fired without warning and be subjected to workplace bullying and harassment. II. Body Paragraph 1: At will practices empower corporations to treat employees unfairly and incite fear in employees which causes undue stress and may affect their ability to perform. A. Supporting evidence: This quote demonstrates that the lack of job security in the United States for the nonunion segment allows an employer to dismiss an employee for just cause, no cause or even a bad cause (Trudeau, 1991). 1. Explanation: This quote suggest that nonunion employees do not have employment protection. 2. So what? This paraphrase supports the fact that employees are justified in their fear of being fired without cause. III. Body Paragraph 2: Also at will practices may force employees to participate in unethical behavior that may be common work practices. A. Supporting evidence: Most employees engage in unethical behavior out of a directive.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
