1. Some type of lifting mechanism is required for clouds to
form. Convective clouds are formed due to instability in the
atmosphere. Frontal clouds are associated with the various
fronts in cyclonic storms. Orographic clouds are created as
air flows over a topographic feature (mountains). Convergent
clouds are caused by air flow converging near the surface.
