WHY COLLEGE, WHY NOW? 3 Why College, Why Now? I was brought to Wilmington University after a long three years in Arizona. After high school I started college with a struggle. I didn’t really know what I wanted to do or where I wanted to go. My lack of interest in any specific majors held me back from achieving good grades early on. If I wasn’t going to go to school, working was my next option. The part time jobs didn’t leave me with enough money to grow with, though. I craved independence! A long distance friend offered me a job at a startup company that he had joined. It was an opportunity to leave home and be on my own, so I took it. I learned a lot from my time in Arizona. I learned what I liked to do and became really good at it. Unfortunately as the company I was working for continued to grow, I hit a glass ceiling that I wasn’t quite ready for.
